About Dogwood

Dogwood Co. is my passion project, and I’m Scott Brinkmeyer, Owner and Creative Director behind it.

My love for all things creative began in 1986 when my 4th-grade drawing of a rough-riding cowboy won honorable mention at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Show. Fourteen years later, I graduated with a BFA in Advertising and Graphic Design from Sam Houston State University.

I launched my career at a Houston ad agency, earning numerous awards while working with incredible clients like Volkswagen Houston, Buc-ee's, ConocoPhillips, Kelsey-Seybold Health System, and Trendmaker Homes. I handled everything from comprehensive branding launches to targeted campaigns and strategic marketing plans.

In 2010, after a life-changing decision to follow Christ, I left my lucrative position to pursue a calling in the Church. I aimed to bring the same passion, experience, and creative gifts I developed in the marketing world to share the gospel with those in need.

That same year, I joined a megachurch in the suburbs of Houston, TX, applying my skills to support and advance His Kingdom. Despite the supportive leadership, talented team, and ample resources, I kept thinking about other churches that lacked such resources. In 2020, amid a global pandemic, I resigned and stepped out in faith to follow a dream that began ten years earlier.

Today, Dogwood Co. is a reality, dedicated to partnering with ministries and churches. Whether you’re looking to reach your community more effectively or share your God-given vision with those who need it most, tighter budgets and limited resources shouldn't hold you back.

As a solo-preneur, I work closely with an amazing network of faith-minded creatives—talented copywriters, videographers, and interactive gurus. These partnerships ensure you receive the best creative solutions while keeping costs down.

At Dogwood, our calling is to support, uplift, and champion ministries and churches that can’t afford a full-time creative staff. Our goal is not to twist or mold your ministry into something it’s not but to shine a light on what makes it unique through honest conversation, thorough research, and creative execution.

We’re ready to help. How can we serve your ministry?

Why Dogwood ?

At the time of Christ’s crucifixion, the dogwood had been known to grow the size of an oak. Its size, strength and firmness lead to it be chosen as timber for the cross upon which Christ was to be nailed.

According to the legend, this made the dogwood tree sad, and Jesus, sensing this sadness, promised the dogwood tree that it would never again grow large enough for a cross to be built from it and its branches would be weak, narrow, and crooked.

I’ve always been fascinated about that last part. That even in its sadness and vulnerability, Christ still had a plan. What the dogwood lost in pride and strength, now gained in humility and beauty. The same has been true in my own journey of faith. That only through Christ can real change come about.

Let’s work together!

We’re always looking for new opportunities to partner with churches and ministries. Limited resources and tight budgets don’t have to limit creativity. We specialize in partnering with churches, with little or no media resources, to concept, design and implement creative solutions for their most pressing needs. Nothing is too big or too small. From ministry logos to sermon graphics. From capital campaigns to bulletin covers. Let’s start the discussion.
